Its not the best bass in the world but its certainly a very good bass I would give it a 4. Pulled the chassis to investigate the hum hoping to see something obvious. The amp has had a recent recap along with a tone stack mod. Loud enough that I call it more of a buzz than a hum. i would recommend it to every body, beginner or expert bassist. Just received a 6v6 version Musicmaster Bass Amp. small and lite(my hard case weighs more than it)andgreat duribility. Over all its a greats beginner bass and an expert sounds great big or small amps. I have not done the input cap removal mod, as I really dont need or want the added overdrive. A fantastic sounding amp, if I could just get that tone out of a full size gigable amp Id have my ideal amp. It is my favorite of the two, and may be my favorite amp of all. In the end I think the MusicMaster has a def 'cool factor' compared to the Jr. The MM is a fun amp but it is what it is. Great, i took it cross country, and who knows were its been the past 20-25 yrs and who had it.the paint job is fading a little and lots and lots of scratches and dents. One of them I keep at my bands practice place. 'Vintage' Fender amps look and sound cool for the most part and are def fun to have around. Nothin much.mines a junior( im 15yrs old) so its a little too small for me.when i first got had it I too take it aprt and cleen iside cause u know ITS 30 YRS OLD!!! sound great on big or smal amps(but sounds terrible on my amp cause my amp's a piece of crap-and old) Last edited: fretless Silver Supporting Member Messages 6,095 2 One of the best kept secrets out there. mines probally an eat beginner bass and expert bass. Vintage 1970s Fender Musicmaster Bass Pickguard - White, Routed for Humbucker. ive hooked it up to a 500 watt amp and it sounds better than most 500-800$ basses.
